DAY FIFTEEN-EIGHTEEN: Lead Gtr., Organ, Drums.

Hello Fellow Space Cadets,
So we've been pretty busy over the past few days. After Andrew finished tracking Rhythm Guitar we moved onto Organ/Keyboards, Lead Guitar & PJ's Drums.

Andrew did keys for five songs. We're particularly excited about his work on 'Something Real'. After he tracked the organ for this song we ran the playback threw an old Fender tube head and Marshall cab with a Cry-Baby Wah. You should hear the Funk-Wah-Organ-Madness. It blows all of our minds and manhoods.

Ed came over to the studio to lay down a few lead tracks. We wanted to focus on some of the songs that PJ would be working on just so we could get a better idea when working on drums. Ed blew threw 'Striped Dress', 'What Love Is', and 'Something Real'.

When PJ came down from Ottawa we got to work right away... or as soon as we could. We had a bit of an issue with mics and cables. We didn't take into account that a few of our mics were being used offsite so we had to scramble and find some good shit last minute.
PJ is heavenly. PJ got through 3 songs and they are wonderful. When Andrew tracked the reference drums tracks we were going for the "Yea, editing and sample replacing should do the trick" method. Hahaha... never again will we take that approach. Thank our lucky stars we have PJ. This dude flys through songs with little flaw. We rarely question anything he does. Pretty much anything PJ does, goes.. unless maybe his Pantera influences stick out too boldly. We're extremely fortunate to have found this great friend, musician and gay lover... oops, I mean... not... gay...lover??? Hmmm...

Anywho - nothing but good work has been going on here and we're proud to announce... well, nothing at this point. But one of these days the record will be done and it'll be amazing. Until then, we'll keep posting and pretending to be busy when really we're just drinking beer and breaking guitar strings.

PEACE,

DAY THIRTEEN: Rhythm Guitar

So yesterday we finally started my rhythm guitar. It went really well. We spent the first hour making adjustments with the amps to get the right tones. I blew through about 9 songs out of 15. Hooray! I realy enjoyed working on guitar yesterday.

Today Ed should be coming over to the studio and hopefully we can wrap-up the Rhythm and start Ed's lead guitar. For effects we patched both mine and Ed's pedal boards together and combined some of the sounds. For the solo in What Love Is, I used my Blues Driver with Ed's Line6 Digital Delay, TS7 Tubescreamer and his Holygrail Spring Reverb. Like I said before, we spent alot of time on guitar tones. I can only predict that we'll be spending alot more time on it when it comes to lead guitar.

I'm going to take off but I'll leave you with this photo Ed took.

PEACE,
